Description Technical details

Marchesi Antinori represents one of the most historic and prestigious Italian wine families, with an uninterrupted winemaking tradition that has its roots in the distant 1385, the year in which Giovanni di Piero Antinori became a member of the Arte Fiorentina dei Vinattieri. Since then, for twenty-six generations, the Antinori family has guided the company with passion and foresight, constantly evolving while respecting its ancient roots and with a strong propensity for innovation. The company extends over several estates owned, located in some of the most suitable areas of Tuscany and Umbria, as well as investments in other Italian regions and abroad. Each estate is managed with a philosophy that enhances the specificity of the terroir and the native and international grape varieties that thrive there. Among the most emblematic estates are Tignanello and Solaia in Chianti Classico, Guado al Tasso in the Maremma Bolgheri, and Castello della Sala in Umbria, each of which contributes to defining the excellence and diversity of the Antinori portfolio. Marchesi Antinori represents an ambassador of Italian wine in the world, with a constant dedication to the enhancement of the viticultural heritage and the promotion of the culture of quality wine. Their centuries-old history is an example of how passion, tradition and innovation can come together to create wines that excite and leave an indelible mark on the international wine scene.

The winemaking process of Scalabrone is aimed at preserving the freshness and aromatic elegance typical of high-end rosé wines. The grapes, hand-picked when they reach the optimal phenolic ripeness for this type of wine, are quickly transported to the cellar to be subjected to a soft and delicate pressing. The aim is to extract the free-run must with limited skin maceration, sufficient to give the wine its characteristic pale pink color and a delicate aromatic structure, without extracting excessive tannins that could weigh down the taste profile.

Scalabrone appears in the glass with a pale pink color, bright and crystalline. On the nose it offers a fragrant and delicate bouquet, with hints of wild strawberries, raspberry, pomegranate, accompanied by light floral notes of rose and a subtle mineral vein, typical of the coastal terroir. In the mouth it is dry, fresh and harmonious, with a lively acidity that enhances the drinkability and a pleasant aromatic persistence that recalls the olfactory sensations. Its balanced structure and elegant flavor make it a versatile and pleasant wine. This Rosato by Marchesi Antinori is particularly appreciated as an aperitif, thanks to its freshness and inviting character. It pairs with versatility with a wide range of dishes, from light appetizers based on fish and vegetables, to delicate first courses with seafood or fresh tomato sauces, up to second courses of baked or grilled fish and white meats. Its elegance and pleasantness make it an ideal wine to accompany convivial moments and Mediterranean cuisine in general. Scalabrone represents a successful interpretation of the potential of international grape varieties in the unique context of the Maremma Toscana, expressing the constant search for quality that distinguishes the Antinori family.
