Princes Extra Brut is a cuvée with a fine perlage and characterized by delicate aromas of white flowers and citrus fruits, accompanied by spicy hints. On the palate it's dry with a good structure and pleasantly persistent. Excellent in combination with raw fish.
La Maison De Venoge was founded by Henri-Marc De Venoge in 1837 in Mareuil-sur-Ay, a small town in the Grand Est region of France. Eclectic, bizarre and unconventional character, De Venoge was a great entrepreneur, famous for having created the first illustrated label in the history of Champagne back in 1838. His son Joseph was even more brilliant when he chose the blue ribbon of the Knights of the Order of the Holy Spirit as his emblem for Cordon Bleu, one of the most iconic labels ever. Also noteworthy is the series of Princes cuvées created in 1858 in honor of the royal house of Holland, whose elegant bottle recalls the crystal decanters used to serve Champagne in the early 1900s. De Venoge still embodies the excellence in the world of Champagne for 180 years.
The Princes Extra Brut is a cuvée resulting from the careful blending of Pinot Noir from the Reims Mountains, the best vintages of Pinot Meunier, the extraordinary Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs. Like all Princes cuvées it is not very dosed, consisting of 30% reserve wines and resting on the lees for 5 years. An excellent champagne to be enjoyed on the right occasions.
