The Orcadian Skiren is a Single Malt Scotch Whisky of those handcrafted on the Orkney Islands in Scotland, which ages in first-filling American oak barrels. It has an amber color, on the nose stands out notes of fresh fruit such as pear, pineapple and citrus. On the palate it's soft and sweet, with hints of ripe fruit, melon, lemon sorbet, savory and fresh on the finish.
The Scapa distillery now owned by Pernot Ricard, was founded in 1885 on the outskirts of the city of Kirkwall by Macfarlane and Towsend. The only distillery in Scotland to still be equipped with an ancient wash still Lomond, that is, a copper alembic that has the typical characteristics of discontinuous distillation while maintaining the specifications of the column stills. A craft distillery that keeps a centuries-old tradition alive.
The Orcadian Skiren is a Single Malt Scotch Whiskey that differs from those produced in the Scottish islands, in the manufacturing process that does not use peat to create malt from barley, making prevail a purer fruit taste, pleasantly sweet unique in its kind.
