Nebbiolo Langhe Serralunga D’Alba con astuccio

The history of the Massolino winery begins in 1896, the year Giovanni founded the company in Serralunga d’Alba. The first actual winery, however, was built by Giuseppe, Giovanni’s son, who, together with his sister Angela, expanded the property by acquiring additional land and, in 1934, founded the Consortium for the Protection of Barolo and Barbaresco. Giovanni, Camilla, and Renato, three of Giuseppe’s children, led the company to a turning point, purchasing crus that have become legendary among enthusiasts: Vigna Rionda, Margheria, and Parafada.

The Serralunga d’Alba DOC from Massolino is a Nebbiolo that perfectly embodies the authentic soul of the Langhe. Produced by the historic Serralunga d’Alba winery, renowned for its excellence and loyalty to the terroir, it is made from Nebbiolo grapes grown on some of the most suitable vineyards in the municipality. It is a wine that expresses structure, elegance, and longevity, capable of expressing the identity of this extraordinary terroir. Careful vinification and aging in large oak barrels create a balance between power and finesse, making it a reference wine for those wishing to explore the Langhe Nebbiolo.

It displays a bright garnet red, typical of the grape variety. The nose reveals ample and complex aromas, with notes of ripe red fruit, dried violets, delicate spices, and light balsamic nuances. On the palate, it is structured, elegant, and persistent, with well-defined yet harmonious tannins, accompanied by a pleasant freshness that emphasizes its authentic character.
Perfect with rich, traditional Piedmontese first courses, grilled red meats, roasts, braised meats, and game, it also pairs splendidly with aged cheeses and autumnal dishes. A versatile Nebbiolo, capable of exciting today but also of evolving magnificently over time.
