Messorio Le Macchiole represents a masterful interpretation of Merlot, a grape variety that, in the expert hands of Bolgheri winemakers, expresses an elegance and expressive refinement of the highest level. This great Tuscan red, celebrated by the most prestigious international wine guides, embodies the extraordinary potential of one of the most beloved Bordeaux vines in the world, enhanced by the soil and climate characteristics of the Tuscan Maremma. The production of Messorio is entrusted to the expert hands of the winemakers of Le Macchiole, who follow a rigorous production protocol aimed at enhancing the best characteristics of the vine and the terroir. The grapes, coming from vineyards located in one of the most suitable areas of the Etruscan Coast, are vinified separately and ferment partly in steel and partly in cement, with prolonged maceration on the skins to favor the extraction of color and aromas. Subsequently, the wine ages for at least 18 months in new French oak barriques, where it acquires complexity and structure, and then refines in the bottle before being marketed.

To the eye, Messorio presents itself with an intense ruby ​​red color, which suggests a complex and enveloping aromatic profile. On the nose, the bouquet is characterized by an intricate web of aromas that constantly evolves in the glass. Notes of small dark berries, such as blackberries and blackcurrants, intertwine with delicate spicy nuances, hints of aromatic herbs typical of the Mediterranean scrub and hints of licorice, giving the wine a unique depth and complexity. On the palate, Messorio reveals itself as a wine of extraordinary finesse, characterized by a perfect balance between fruit, tannins and freshness. The sip is soft, enveloping, with a ripe fruit that retains its fragrance intact, despite the complexity of tertiary evolutionary notes that are expressed in hints of vanilla, cocoa and toasting, deriving from the refinement in barrique.
