Le Serre Nuove dell’Ornellaia in cofanetto

Tenuta dell’Ornellaia is located in the hilly area not far from Bolgheri, in an area close to the sea that enjoys an ideal microclimate, caressed by sea breezes and protected from the coldest winds. In the best tradition of the Frescobaldi family, which owns the property, Ornellaia wines are an authentic expression of a heterogeneous terroir of marine, alluvial and volcanic origin, from which white and red wines of rare elegance and high quality are obtained. The production philosophy respects environmental sustainability and the belief that the vineyards must give the best results both through the naturalness of the processes and by enhancing the experience of the human capital employed.

Le Serre Nuove dell’Ornellaia is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot grapes. The vinification is carried out separately to respect the differences of each single variety. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in steel containers for 15 days at controlled temperatures of 26-30 ° C, followed by maceration for another 10-15 days. The malolactic fermentation begins in steel and then ends in oak barrels and rests in the cellar for 15 months at a controlled temperature. After the first 12 months, the wine of the different varieties is assembled and spends the last 3 months again in barriques, to then refine a further 6 months in the bottle. The result is a red with intense and complex aromas with an immediate pleasantness, and an excellent aging potential.
