Gewürztraminer

The name of the Rottensteiner family originates from the red stone typical of the South Tyrolean region, porphyry. It’s here that Hans Rottensteiner 50 years ago fulfilled the dream of producing his wine. The winery was born in 1956 and since then has become a family affair, from generation to generation, continuing until today to use the fruits of the 10 hectares of family vineyards, and the grapes of over 60 farmers in the area. An authentic and passionate production, which takes into account the typical features of the individual varieties, in particular those typical of the Bolzano area such as Lagrein and Santa Maddalena.

Rottensteiner’s Gewürztraminer is obtained from grapes of the same name vinified in purity and grown on the slopes near Bolzano. After the soft pressing of the bunches for 5-6 hours, the wine ferments in steel at a controlled temperature of 20 ° C and  matures in steel tanks again to keep the varietal aromas typical of the grape as much as possible. It’s a versatile white that goes perfectly with fish based dishes, shellfish and white meats.
