Armand de Brignac embodies a set of meanings and values that are hard to sum up. This champagne is the fruit of an excellence you can sense at first glance. It is no coincidence that Armand de Brignac champagne so often takes centre stage at exclusive events among celebrities and wealthy entrepreneurs; think of the enormous Midas bottle served to Flavio Briatore and Charles Shaker in Monte Carlo.
There is one peculiarity in the making of this champagne that shows why it is associated with such extreme refinement: no more than 18 people ever get to handle a bottle of Armand de Brignac! Each stage of production is overseen personally by a skilled worker, and every detail is taken care of by hand, from the harvest to applying the French pewter label to the bottle. This unusual approach is made possible by a production that does not call for large quantities; the small volumes allow each worker to devote the time needed to the details, to the benefit of exceptional overall quality.
Creating a champagne that would rank among the finest in the region was the goal of the Cattier family, growers and producers of Armand de Brignac. For more than two centuries 33 hectares of vines in Champagne have been in their hands: every plot is recognised by the French government as being of “high environmental value”. This commitment to sustainability goes hand in hand with a meticulous search for outstanding grapes; every year only the freshest, finest-quality fruit is selected so that the must has the right acidity and a surprising suppleness.
Let us discover the value of Armand de Brignac through its labels: we present two, the first a spokesman for the history of the Maison, the second a true rarity that is hard to come by.
Armand de Brignac Brut Gold
The Brut Gold is the finest representative of the Armand de Brignac collection. Of the ace-of-spades champagnes, it was the first to be produced and it remains an icon of the house to this day. The Brut Gold is a blend of three vintages – a feature shared by all Armand de Brignac champagnes – from prized terroirs: 2009, 2010 and 2012. This champagne, with its assertive character, delivers vibrant notes of fresh fruit; on tasting you find peach, apricot and cranberry on the nose, and exotic fruit, cherry and hints of honey, vanilla and lemon on the palate.
The preciousness of the Brut Gold is enhanced by its splendid golden bottle.
Armand de Brignac Brut Green
The Brut Green is a limited edition from Armand de Brignac, created in honour of the Masters golf tournament, one of the four majors and among the most important events of the men’s professional season. The choice of green is no accident: it recalls the colour of the jacket awarded to the winner, the famous Green Jacket.
The Brut Green is a champagne with a strong personality, which comes through in its light fruity hints, perfectly integrated with notes of brioche. Its assertive character shows in the contrast between its fresh, lively aroma and its complex structure, an exclusive pairing that gives a long, silky finish.
Both Bruts are champagnes that pair well with light, refined fish dishes, such as grilled king prawns. We offer Armand de Brignac Brut Gold and Brut Green at a special price!
