Massolino's Langhe Chardonnay captivates with its intense aromas of ripe fruit and delicate flowers, enriched with subtle spicy notes. Enveloping and harmonious on the palate, it pairs elegantly with seafood, white meats, and cheeses. A refined white, ideal for those seeking quality and instant pleasure.
The history of the Massolino winery begins in 1896, the year Giovanni founded the company in Serralunga d’Alba. The first actual winery, however, was built by Giuseppe, Giovanni’s son, who, together with his sister Angela, expanded the property by acquiring additional land and, in 1934, founded the Consortium for the Protection of Barolo and Barbaresco. Giovanni, Camilla, and Renato, three of Giuseppe’s children, led the company to a turning point, purchasing crus that have become legendary among enthusiasts: Vigna Rionda, Margheria, and Parafada.
The Massolino Chardonnay Langhe DOC is the elegant and contemporary expression of the renowned Serralunga d’Alba winery, which has been a benchmark in the Langhe region for over a century. Made from carefully selected Chardonnay grapes grown on particularly suitable hillside soils, this wine reflects the Massolino family’s production philosophy: combining tradition and innovation to create labels with a strong territorial identity. Careful vinification and partial aging in wood lend complexity and harmony, preserving the grape’s characteristic freshness.
It appears a brilliant straw yellow with golden highlights. On the nose, it offers an intense and refined bouquet, with hints of ripe yellow fruit, citrus, floral notes, and delicate nuances of vanilla and sweet spices. On the palate, it is enveloping, elegant, and well-balanced, with a pleasant freshness that complements a full structure and a long, persistent finish.
Perfect as an aperitif, it pairs splendidly with seafood appetizers, shellfish, baked fish, delicate white meats, and fresh or medium-aged cheeses. A versatile and refined wine, capable of enhancing both seafood and meat dishes.
