Champagne Brut “R” Ruinart

€ 65,00 VAT included · 75 cl

Ruinart Champagne "R" perfectly expresses the taste of the Maison. It shows a bright yellow with golden reflections, and a persistent perlage. Fruity notes of pear, rennet apple, apricot prevail on the nose, which then give way to hazelnut and almonds, enriched by hints of brioche and biscuit. On the palate it's round and balanced, with aromas of ripe fruit and a long finish.

Description Technical details

Ruinart was founded in 1729, and is the oldest Maison de Champagne, born from the intuition of an enlightened monk, in the historical period of the Enlightenment who strongly outlined the French art de vivre, developing and promoting this art is at the base of the philosophy of the family. The noble freshness of Chardonnay is the basis of the Ruinart cuvées, as is the extraordinary terroir where the vineyards stretch between the Côte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims. The cellars that rise like underground chalk cathedrals determine the added value of a slow aging in bottle and an accurate winemaking process, which together with the strict respect for the natural cycle of the vineyard, represent the distinctive elements of Champagne Ruinart. It’s certainly no coincidence that the milestone of 300 years in 2029, between respect for traditions and continuous creative innovation.

Champagne Brut “R” is produced by blending the Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier varieties grown in the vineyards of the Côte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims, to which are added 20/25% of reserve wines from previous vintages. The harvest is manual and alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature, followed by malolactic fermentation and 36 months of aging on the lees. The taste is strongly characterized by the typical freshness of Chardonnay, that enhanches its strong personality. An Excellent Champagn ideally paired with poached oysters, plancha-style scallops, or sole alla mugnaia, as well as with fresh and slightly seasoned cheese.
