Gewurztraminer

The Isarco Valley is the northernmost winegrowing region in Italy. In the high-altitude vineyards, suspended between steep peaks and shaded by edelweiss, the valley’s signature grape ripens: Riesling. The soils are thin, stony, intensely mineral. The moraine deposits left by the ice ages are rich in schist, quartz porphyry and gneiss. The roots of the vines, sometimes clinging to bare rock, have to work hard for the minerals they need. These austere conditions demand a measured life from people too, without waste and without excess. At these heights wine is truly a gift, or something more: “the song of the earth towards the sky”. Gaffer von Feldenreich’s Riesling is an unmatched concentration of aromatic, polyphenolic and savoury substance.

Gewürztraminer Gaffer von Feldenreich shows a fine, bright pale gold, with an intense, harmonious and elegant nose of rose petals, orange peel and light spicy notes of ginger and nutmeg. On the palate it is soft and enveloping, set in a mineral frame of remarkable length, lingering and filling the whole palate.
