Cayega from Tenuta Carretta is an elegant white from Piedmont, made from Arneis, the old and distinctive grape of the Roero. It is a pleasant wine, to be served with aperitifs and starters, with vegetables and with fish or white meat.
Cayega is a DOCG white from Piedmont, produced in the old and captivating Roero winegrowing area, in the province of Cuneo, on the Tenuta Carretta estate. Among gentle slopes and the stories of noble families, the 100% Arneis vines stretch across land that has been given over to viticulture for centuries: at Tenuta Carretta, technical innovation always goes hand in hand with respect for local tradition. The final wine is the result of culture, passion and pride.
Cayega is a complex, full and aromatic white, qualities it owes to the fine lees it rests on for a short time after alcoholic fermentation. It is bottled as soon as the wine becomes clear: after a few weeks, Cayega is ready to taste.
Like any good Piedmont wine, Cayega surprises the senses, starting with the eye. Greenish glints run through the traditional straw yellow. Aromas of fruit and flowers give it a broad and lingering bouquet, and the palate finds the same qualities: Cayega has good structure and a pleasant length.
We suggest serving Cayega at 11–12 °C with seafood, soups, pasta dishes or white meat.
