Plantation Fiji is a rum distilled in the South Pacific Distillery in the Fiji Islands, in 2009. The nose is intense, it opens with aromas of prickly pear and woody notes, then moving on to more fruity and spicy aromas, such as banana, pecan and nutmeg. On the palate it's rich and round, with hints of vanilla caramel, cocoa, ginger beer and notes of quince, hazelnut and coconut.
The Plantation collection was born from the passion for Rum and Cognac of the French entrepreneur Alexandre Gabriel, who in 1989 came across Maison Ferrand, a prestigious company of spirits and liqueurs. From this happy meeting the opportunity arises to intercept the best plantations and the best Caribbean rums, products for personal use or to raise the quality of other assemblies, creating an ad hoc line of vintage Rums with unique characteristics and expression of excellence in the art of this distillate. The Rum Plantation are aged in the Caribbean, exposed to the typical hot and humid climate, to then be brought to France where they are carefully refined to enhance elegance and personality. Today Alexandre Gabriel is the owner and president of Maison Ferrand and continues to experiment with Gin, Cognac and Rum with unique and inimitable flavors.
Rum Plantation Fiji was distilled in 2009 using both pot and colum stills. It’s a very intense rum, aged for the first 7 years in the Fiji Islands in ex bourbon barrels, ready to be shipped to France where it rests in Ferrand oak barrels for another 2/3 years. A rum with a complex taste for fine palates.
