Riesling Josephshöfer GG Grosses Gewächs is a sip of the history of the Moselle and its great winemaking tradition. The color is a straw yellow with golden reflections, while the nose stands out with a floral bouquet of orange blossom, jasmine, vanilla, with mineral notes in the background. In the mouth, citrus aromas prevail that envelop the palate in a sensation of rare elegance.
The Reichsgraf von Kesselstatt winery is one of the oldest estates in Germany in the heart of the Mosel-Saar-Ruwer region, with 650 years of history behind it. The Gunter-Reh family took over it in the late 1970s from the Reichsgrafen von Kesselstatt nobles of imperial lineage, starting a process of redevelopment of the vineyards and cellars that produced extraordinary Rieslings. The climatic conditions, the proximity to the Moselle river, the stony-clayey soils on which the vineyards extend on considerable slopes, make it one of the best areas in the world for the production of white wines. The Gunter-Reh family, convinced that the wine is a faithful expression of the terroir of origin, continues the work begun 50 years ago without stopping.
The wine takes its name from the historic Josephshöfer vineyard, one of the best known in the Moselle, near the village of Graach. The wine ferments spontaneously in stainless steel tanks and refines in the same containers to preserve the organoleptic properties of the fruit. It goes perfectly with dishes based on fish and particularly spicy vegetables.
