The Argiolas Winery was founded by Antonio Argiolas in the late 1930s in Serdiana, in the heart of the Sulcis region. It has continued to grow, establishing itself as one of the island’s leading wineries, and is now managed by the third generation, Antonio’s grandchildren. The connection to the beautiful and pristine Sardinian landscape has always been central to the winery’s philosophy, and continues to renew that respect for the most authentic winemaking traditions and unique characteristics. The vineyards extend over more than 200 hectares in the southwest part of the island, across five stunning estates where traditional Sardinian grape varieties are cultivated, producing a wine of excellent quality that respects the unique characteristics of each individual terroir, from the microclimate to the soil composition.

Born of the ancient Sardinian winemaking tradition and the savoir-faire of the Argiolas family, Is Solinas is a powerful red wine that perfectly expresses the authentic character of Carignano, one of the historic grape varieties of southwestern Sardinia. Grown in the Sulcis area, between marine sands and salty breezes, this grape finds its ideal habitat, giving rise to a full-bodied, elegant, and strongly distinctive wine. The “Is Solinas” label takes its name from the location of the vineyards, a picturesque corner between land and sea, where the vines grow caressed by the sun and wind. Careful vinification, with temperature-controlled fermentation and aging in wood, allows the wine to develop complexity, smoothness, and a pleasant structure, without ever losing its balance. This wine represents a perfect fusion of tradition and innovation, ideal for those seeking the most authentic and refined expression of Sardinian winemaking.

It displays a deep, intense ruby red color with purple highlights that reflect its youth and vivacity. The body is consistent, with a beautiful luminosity in the glass. The bouquet is rich and enveloping: aromas of ripe red fruits (such as cherry and blackberry), spicy notes of black pepper and licorice, balsamic hints, and subtle nuances of tobacco and vanilla due to the wood aging. On the palate, it is warm, soft, and structured, with velvety, well-integrated tannins. The finish is long and persistent, with fruity and spicy aftertaste that invites another sip. Perfect with red meat dishes, roasts, game, and aged cheeses. It is particularly suited to traditional Sardinian dishes such as roast suckling pig, lamb with myrtle, or sheep’s milk stew. It is also excellent with rich first courses such as tagliatelle with wild boar ragù or culurgiones with meat sauce.
