Description Technical details

The Trvaglini winery extends for 59 hectares in the heart of the Gattinara hills, of which 44 hectares of vineyards. Arturo Travaglini already in the 50s produced the wine already called Gattinara, and then passed the baton to his son Giancarlo, who in turn passed it on to his daughter Cinzia who today runs the company with her husband Massimo. Passion for work and research of the highest quality have been the cornerstones of an entrepreneurial activity that has developed over the years over 3 generations. The terroir that has made the Travaglini wines popular is of a rocky type and rich in skeleton, made of the same geological composition as the Alps, located on the slopes of Monte Rosa, and contributing to the unique taste of Gattinara. The vineyards are cultivated almost entirely with Nebbiolo, one of the noblest varieties, and for a small part with Vespolina and Uva Rara grapes. In the cellar, respect for traditions and maniacal care of the winemaking processes close the production cycle with the aim of obtaining wines of the highest level.

Tre Vigne owes its name to the selection of Nebbiolo grapes from three historic vineyards of the Travaglini company. The vinification is in steel with aging for 5 years, of which 42 months in Slavonian oak barrels, and a minor part of 20% in smaller barrels with a subsequent refinement of 8 months in the bottle. The particular microclimate, the different altitudes, the composition of the land together with the experience of the winemaker make this Gattinara Tre Vigne a special wine, which, if properly stored, can age for 12-15 years.
