Corte del Lupo Bianco is a wine dedicated by Ca 'del Bosco to the wolf as master of the space it protects, and an image of fertility and abundance. A white that is born in an immense territory and refines in the confined spaces of small oak barrels. Its color is straw yellow, and on the nose it releases all the fruity aromatic breadth of Chardonnay grapes. On the palate it is fresh and balanced.
The history of the Ca ‘del Bosco winery has the fanciful connotations of the fairy tale, of a dream that is realized between illuminated visions that go beyond reality. It all began in the mid-1960s when Annamaria Clementi Zanella purchased a house in the hills in Erbusco in the heart of Franciacorta surrounded by a chestnut grove and locally called “Ca ‘del bosc”. It’s here that his young son Maurizio was struck on the wine route when his mother planted the first vineyard. A love at first sight that continues in the Cahmpagne region where what was initially an ethereal dream becomes a clear vision, and returned to its wood in the Brescia area at the beginning of the 70s, giving life to what will be one of the most modern and advanced Italian wineries, to whom credit goes to having been able to fully express the great wine potential of a land dedicated to wine.
The Corte del Lupo Bianco is obtained from the grapes of 13 vineyards which by exposure and age give life to a white in full Ca ‘del Bosco style, in which the fruity character of the Chardonnay grapes is in total harmony with the elegance of Pinot Blanc. The grapes are harvested by hand and destined for the washing and whirlpool system of the bunches in soaking tanks with subsequent drying. After that, the berries fall into the vat from above by gravity, eliminating pumping systems that are the cause of the breakage of the skins and herbaceous residues. Only the best must of the first fraction is selected to give life to this white, vinified for about 1/4 in small oak barrels used the year before for Chardonnay. The remaining part is vinified in steel tanks. After 6 months of aging on their lees, without malolactic fermentation, the two varieties assemble, then the wine it’s ready to be bottled naturally by gravity, and aged for at least another 3 months in bottle.
