Champagne Brut Reserve Philippe Gonet is a champagne that in its classic being is striking for its delicacy and vivacity. Characterized by hints of fruit and citrus on the nose including pear and apple, it envelops the palate with its fresh minerality, inviting you to drink sip by sip. Ideal champagne with fish dishes.
Behind the company Philippe Gonet there are 7 generations of “vignerons”, which today Pierre and Chantal carry on with great determination and passion after the premature death of their father Philippe. The vineyards are located in the heart of Champagne at Le Mesnil sur Oger in that part of the territory known as Cote des Blancs, which is dominated by Chardonnay, the grape variety at the base of the Maison’s production with minimal quantities of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. The great dedication to family traditions and the very high quality of the grapes grown, have made Philippe Gonet one of the most prized and known champagne in the world among those produced in Mesnil sur Oger.
The Champagne Brut Reserve by Philippe Gonet is aged in the bottle on the lees for 36 months, after fermentation in steel for 6 months at a controlled temperature, according to the dictates of the Champenoise Method. In this case, 60% of Pinot Noir dominates, while Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier contribute with smaller dosages. It perfectly testifies to the continuous search for quality developed over the years by the Maison, and remains a great wine at low cost.
