TAn excellent Single Malt Scotch Whisky distilled in December 1997 by Auchentoshan, one of the few remaining Lowland distilleries in Scotland, and bottled by the Hunter Laing company in May 2013 for the Old Malt Cask series. A whisky for Single Malt lovers, according with the best tradition.
Auchentoshan is one of the few remaining distilleries in the Lowlands, the south central part of Scotland, founded by Irish refugees in 1825 on the outskirts of Glasgow. Its peculiar characteristic, common to other distilleries in this Scottish region, is the triple distillation of whiskey, a typically Irish method which differs from the double distillation practiced in most of Scotland. The resulting whiskey is lighter and “cleaner”.
The Auchentoshan is a Single Malt Scotch Whisky distilled in the Lowlands and bottled by Hunter Laing for the renowned Old Malt Cask series in only 211 units from a single numbered barrel. It’s a sinlge malt without dyes and additives, with the clean taste, typical of whiskys produced by triple distillation.
