Lagavulin 12 years old is a peated single malt scotch whisky, bottled as Special Release 2024. Aged 12 years in previously used American oak refill barrels, it has a full taste, unique in the world with a marked peat and a soft entry, body medium, citrus notes and iodine that give freshness.
Lagavulin is a prestigious historical brand of Scotch whisky whose birth dates back to 1817 when the distillery was founded on the island of Islay, on the west coast of Scotland, where the most peaty whiskys come from. After several vicissitudes and changes in ownership, it still holds true to its glorious origins, known for always producing small quantities of high quality.
Lagavulin 12 years old Special Release 2019 has the classic peaty, smoky aroma typical of the Scottish distillery, enriched with citrus notes and marine scents. In the mouth we appreciate hints of pear and citrus fruit, vanilla, hints of honey and woody notes of oak prevail which blend harmoniously with peat smoke. An extraordinary whisky to be enjoyed with excellent dark chocolate or a Cuban cigar.
