Löwengang Alois Lageder is a Chardonnay that with its accentuated reflections and a full bouquet and vigorous body in the 80s was the first South Tyrolean white wine to conquer international taste!
Chardonnay, thanks to the passion and dedication of the Alois Lageder winery, turns into a wine of great gustatory impact and the winemaking process further enhances the organoleptic notes that distinguish it and place it among the best wines of Alto-Adige. The Löwengang vineyard was planted at the beginning of the twentieth century. With vines that partly reach 140 years of age, it is one of the oldest vineyards in South Tyrol. To protect this unique genetic heritage in the future, a few years ago we reproduced the vines by mass selection some young vines, thus expanding the area of the plot. Löwengang Chardonnay alois Lageder comes from a sandy, gravelly and calcareous soil. The spontaneous fermentation takes place in barriques and in large barrels, with the contact on the lees of fermentation, the refinement in the bottle reaches up to one year.
Bright and clear golden yellow color with an accentuated, fruity bouquet with hints of pear, apricot, peach, fresh, buttery and harmonious toasting. On the palate it is vigorous, harmonious and structured with mineral, fruity and salty notes.
