Isolavilla wine is a Grignolino d'asti DOC with a more or less tenuous ruby red color, with delicate and subtle amber reflections, the nose is delicately perfumed and fine, with light notes of undergrowth and dried flowers, accompanied by characteristic hints of white pepper . In the mouth it is remarkably lively and savory but very refined and dry with a slightly almond aftertaste.
The “ Tenuta Olim Bauda ” winery was born in Piedmont in 1998, a wonderful reality that is run by the brothers Dino, Diana and Gianni Bertolino, who thanks to their immense passion and dedication, have brought their company to the highest levels of Asti oenology. A winery that boasts a centuries-old tradition in the production and marketing of wine, in fact it all began with the great-grandfather of the three brothers, Giacinto. The historic heart of the Olim Bauda estates is the parcel around the manor house, on the hills of Nizza Monferrato, planted by his father in 1961, with barbera and moscato. From this vineyard the estate has expanded until today, reaching 30 hectares of vineyards, all followed with sustainable agriculture practices.
Isolavilla is one of the oldest Piedmontese wines, the name in fact almost certainly derives from ” grignole ” a dialect term from Asti, indicating the particularly numerous grape seeds.
