Disiato is more than a wine: it is the deep call of one’s own roots, the genuine wish to go home. A Frappato that tells of the most honest Sicily, made of sun, wind and passion. Every sip invites you to give in to its freshness and its natural elegance — right for anyone after a red that is lively, modern and irresistibly enjoyable.
Tenute Navarra grew out of Totò’s dream, with roots in the Sicilian soil going back to 1951. After years of experience and work, in 2019 he realised his plan to champion the land he came from, buying an estate at Butera, in the heart of Sicily. Together with his family he carries forward a vision that joins tradition and innovation, bringing out a terroir like no other between the sea and the inland hills, rich in history and identity.
Disiato is a red made from Frappato alone, grown in the heart of Sicily, in Contrada San Giacomo at Butera. Vinified entirely in steel, it is made to preserve as much as possible of the variety’s freshness and aromatic intensity. The result is an elegant, versatile wine, meant to be drunk young but with precision, and able to show the best of this noble Sicilian grape.
The nose opens on intense scents of fresh cherry, wild strawberry and pomegranate, enriched by delicate floral notes of violet and light spicy shades. The palate is nimble, harmonious and easy, with soft tannins and a pleasant freshness that keeps the sip fragrant and lively. The finish is clean, with persistent echoes of red fruit. Perfect with cured meats, white meat, Mediterranean dishes, grilled vegetables and fresh cheeses.
