The winery was founded in 2004 from the dream of five friends—Luigi Dotti, Stefano Pedrotti, Dario and Giuseppe Vezzoli, and Maria Paola Redoglio—over dinner. They chose Erbusco, the moral heart of Franciacorta, where the best DOCG vineyards are located on the morainic hills. 12 hectares, 80,000 bottles, and a no-compromises philosophy. Small production, manual harvesting, the “SoloUva” method without exogenous sugars, gentle pressing, and extremely long aging. The specially shaped bottles, specifically designed to promote aging, make Derbusco Cives Franciacorta wines unmistakable.

Double Er Di stands for Delayed Disgorgement Recently Disgorged, meaning that the disgorgement, the final stage of Franciacorta method production after long months of aging, is deliberately delayed, and the bottles are delivered freshly disgorged, as indicated on the label, to ensure maximum freshness. Produced using only the first free-run grapes, a portion of the base wine ferments in barrique. The base wine ages for at least 30 months on the lees in Derbusco Cives’ characteristic teardrop-shaped bottles.

Bright straw yellow with a fine and persistent perlage. The nose opens with aromas of white flowers, notes of pear, apple, and white peach, with elegant hints of yeast and vanilla from the barrique aging and long aging on the lees. On the palate, it is fresh, soft, and balanced, with a well-integrated perlage and a structure that combines maturity and lightness; the finish is broad and savory. Enjoy chilled in a Franciacorta glass with medium-bodied dishes, especially fish and vegetable appetizers, Sebino sardine and potato tart, fines de claires oysters, fish-based first courses, and light meat-based main courses.

Serving temperature: 6°-8°C

Production area: Lombardy

Vintage: s.a.

Alcohol: 12.5%

Capacity: 75cl

Winery: Derbusco Cives

Grape variety: Chardonnay 85%, Pinot Noir 15%

Appellation: Franciacorta Brut DOCG

Recommended pairings: Fish and vegetable appetizers, Sebino sardine and potato tart, fines de claires oysters, fish-based first courses, and meat-based main courses

Maturity in harmony with lightness.
