The history of the Massolino winery begins in 1896, the year Giovanni founded the company in Serralunga d’Alba. The first actual winery, however, was built by Giuseppe, Giovanni’s son, who, together with his sister Angela, expanded the property by acquiring additional land and, in 1934, founded the Consortium for the Protection of Barolo and Barbaresco. Giovanni, Camilla, and Renato, three of Giuseppe’s children, led the company to a turning point, purchasing crus that have become legendary among enthusiasts: Vigna Rionda, Margheria, and Parafada.<\/p>\n
