The cellars were located under the building in question. The motto “Vive et me ama” (live and love me) was then adopted on the family coat of arms. From these words then develops the intention of wanting to make the language of Champagne “speak”, the desire to make it a truly universal language, accessible and universal to all, in continuous evolution and to be learned and taught, at its own discretion. time. Later with the help of his eldest son, Alexandre, father and son founded Delamotte Père & Fils (father and son). In 1798 with the dissolution of the Order of Malta, the second son, Nicolas Louis Delamotte, then a knight on the island of Malta, returned to his homeland with the desire to undertake a policy of exporting the Delamotte brand to the largest cities in Europe and of the world, this explains the symbol of the eight-pointed cross on the coat of arms of the bottles of the maison, symbol of the Order. Then in the 20th century, Marie-Louise de Nonancourt gave the company a second birth, since in 1927 she acquired vines in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, in the heart of the Côte des Blancs, in the kingdom of Chardonnay. His sons Charles and the youngest Bernard passed on the family teaching, the latter also taking over the management of the Laurent-Perrier house in 1949, which had been acquired by his mother during the two world wars. Finally in 1988, Bernard succeeded in the family dream, with the acquisition of the prestigious and legendary Maison de Champagne Salon. In short, he shows that the art of making Champagne and teaching it truly runs in the Delamotte family.
All the Champagnes produced by Delamotte have a common characteristic, elegance, due to the conformation of the land of the Côte des Blancs, one of the most suitable areas of the Champagne region. This terroir balances the powerful and airy Chardonnay, giving it unique characteristics.

Delamotte’s Champagne Brut is a Cuvée composed of the 3 mother vines of the Champagne specification, with the highest percentage of 60% Chardonnay, which gives structure, then 35% of Pinot Noir for acidity, aromas and length of mouth, and finally a small part of Pinot Meunier 5% to unite and harmonize the drink thanks to its aromatic characteristics. After vinification it is bottled and remains Sur Lie for 36 months before being lightly disgorged, without affecting the essence of the product, techniques used throughout the entire Delamotte range.

The Brut of the Delamotte maison has a brilliant straw yellow with a fine and elegant perlage, the nose is complex, citrus fruits are the master, lemon peel among all, then moves on to the floral of these, orange blossom and lemon , the fragrant hints of the yeasts remain elegant. Finally, the tasting is an absolute amazement for the senses, the smile sometimes comes spontaneously, a lot of acidity which however marries the complex nose and makes drinking very pleasant.

Region: France

Year: sa

Alcohol content: 12%

Volume: 75 cl.

Winery: Delamotte

Grape: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier.

Name: AOC Champagne

Pairing: Delamotte’s Brut is a perfect match as an aperitif, to dine on a menu with a sweet and fatty tendency.

From a historic Maison, a great fresh champagne with a fine and elegant perlage.
