In 1051, the monks of the order of Vallombrosa began to build this monastery of the &#8220;Good Harvest&#8221; by planting the first vineyards in this area at the same time. In 1810, under the Napoleonic rule, the monks were forced to leave Coltibuono. Later the property was sold through a lottery, and in 1846 it was bought by Michele Giuntini, a Florentine banker and ancestor of the current owners.
