Robert Mondavi, born into a family of Italian origin, more precisely from the Marche region, began working in the wine sector at the age of 30, after his father decided to buy a small farm in Napa Valley. Twenty years later, Robert Mondavi, not too far, opened the winery that still bears his name today, a reality that over time has been able to establish itself more and more, as one of the most important in the area, capable of competing in terms of quality. with those who until then were considered the great French producers, especially from Bordeaux.

Robert Mondavi was one of the central figures in the world of wine, not only Californian but also American. In 1966 one of the companies that would change the course of history had just been born; part of the estate on which Mondavi built his cellar also included the legendary “To Kalon” vineyard, where one of the best cabernet sauvignons in the world is still grown, and the sauvignon blanc from which one of the most famous wines is produced by Robert Mondavi, or the Fumé Blanc.
