Count Augusto Carlo Giorgi of Vistarino was the first to import into Italy in 1850 the Pinot Noir grapes from France by planting them in the vineyard of his Tenuta Rocca de Giorgi, owned by his family since 1674. Through the years and generations the spirit remained the same enthusiast of the beginning, and today the farm extends for 826 hectares of which 200 are vineyards, covering almost the entire territory of the Municipality of Rocca d\u00e8 Giorgi on the hills of the Oltrep\u00f2 Pavese in Lombardy, always respecting its typical biodiversity. With the guidance of Ottavia Giorgi of Vistarino wine production has increasingly gone towards the pursuit of quality and environmental sustainability in the sign of the best maintenance of those so prosperous lands. The investment in the technological innovation of the winery in the last 5 years has allowed\u00a0the company to produce wines of great qualitative level from the vinification of Pinot Noir in red and in white for the spumante bases, preferred by the best Italian sparkling wine companies.<\/p>\n
The Saint Valier is one of the three Pinot Noirs vinified in white by the Conte Vistarino winery, which continues to surprise with its great ability to interpret this grape variety in its many possibilities. The vineyards are those of the hills of the Rocca d\u00e8 Giorgi estate, and the alcoholic fermentation of the grapes takes place in steel vats following soft pressing. Aging takes place on the lees of the yeasts for 6 months, which gives the wine an excellent body and a long persistence in the mouth, accompanied by hints of fruit on the nose and a balanced overall softness.
