Ripassa 2019<\/strong> and Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 2018<\/strong> are Zenato\u2019s new releases for 2022, two long-awaited vintages arriving at just the right time, in the run-up to Christmas.<\/p>\n

Two much-loved reds, the first \u201cre-passed\u201d over Amarone pomace, the second aged for 36 months in oak casks; beyond their individual characteristics, Zenato wines<\/a> follow a single line, shaped by the strong sense of place of the winery, \u201cSoul of Lugana and heart of Valpolicella\u201d. Hectares of vineyards stretch across the S. Cristina estate in San Benedetto di Lugana and the Costalunga estate in Valpolicella, and even into Tuscany, where on a small farm Zenato has created its own interpretation of the well-known Bolgheri DOC.<\/p>\n

From each estate and the territory that defines it, Zenato has created truly great wines, much appreciated by enthusiasts and lovers of top quality: the reds of Valpolicella and the whites of Lugana<\/strong>, where Sergio Zenato\u2019s passion began. The winery\u2019s story in fact starts in San Benedetto di Lugana in 1960 and immediately takes on an important character: Zenato works in full harmony with the land and its people, combines business skills with openness to innovation, develops new winemaking techniques and focuses on native grape varieties. With the same approach, in the following years Zenato also expands into Valpolicella, with remarkable reds in an unmistakable style.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s start with the reds, with Amarone della Valpolicella and Ripassa, whose eagerly awaited 2018 and 2019 labels have now arrived, and look at some of the most popular wines.<\/p>\n

Zenato Amarone della Valpolicella<\/h2>\n

Zenato Amarone<\/strong> is a truly great wine, the jewel of the range, as the winery itself describes it. The Classico is a DOCG red wine<\/strong> made from Corvina, Rondinella, Oseleta and Croatina grapes from vineyards in the municipality of Sant\u2019Ambrogio.<\/p>\n

After careful selection and harvesting, the grapes are left to dry for 4 months and crushing only begins in January; this is followed by a slow fermentation on the skins and ageing in Slavonian oak casks for 36 months, and in the bottle for at least another 12.<\/p>\n

The result is wonderful.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Zenato Amarone della Valpolicella Classico<\/a> is intense, warm and highly structured. It has notes of bay leaf and cherries in spirit and a deep ruby red colour: a wine whose entire sensory profile delights and intoxicates the palate.<\/p>\n

The many national and international awards it has won over the years confirm the great qualities of this Amarone.<\/p>\n

Amarone Riserva Sergio Zenato<\/h2>\n

It bears the name of its founder and is made only in outstanding vintages: this is Amarone Riserva DOCG Sergio Zenato, produced from Corvina and Rondinella grapes selected from the oldest vineyards in the classic Valpolicella area, in Sant\u2019Ambrogio.<\/p>\n

Vinified following the Zenato Amarone approach, it is aged for at least 4 years in oak casks.<\/p>\n

A wine without equal, with a singular style and character and which, thanks to its particular quality, can be enjoyed even after 20 years<\/strong>. As many of our customers describe it, this Amarone is an important wine that does full credit to Sergio Zenato.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

A red in which it is hard to find even the smallest flaw.<\/p>\n
