Ludwig

The village of Caldaro, located north of Tramin along the wine road, is one of the most important vineyards in South Tyrol. Here, halfway between the lake of the same name and the village, the main estate of the company is: Castel Ringberg. The vineyard surrounds the imposing castle, overlooking the scenic landscape overlooking the lake. Fermentation in steel and partly wood with maceration of 10 days on the marc and subsequent malolactic fermentation in barrels. Maturation in French oak barriques for a duration of 16 months. Maceration at low temperatures for 48 hours, followed by traditional fermentation, partially in large Slovenia oak vats, partially in stainless steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation follows and, the final wine matures in French oak barrels for another 16 months.

With ripe fruits like sweet cherries and plums, spicy notes of cinnamon and cloves, the bouquet opens up elegantly and harmoniously; multilayered, complex and inviting. On the palate, the Ludwig Pinot Noir captivates through its elegance, pleasingly soft tannins, a filigreed structure, discreet spiciness, a profoundly refined play of aromas, juiciness and minerality as well as an invitingly fresh finish.
