Kellerei Bozen was founded in 1908, when 30 farmers founded a wine cooperative in the Gries district with the common goal of making and marketing the native Trentino vines Lagrein and Santa Maddalena. Currently the cooperative, located in the municipality of San Maurizio, is made up of 224 families united by the common values ​​of pleasure, passion and variety. The Bolzano area is morphologically perfect for viticulture, it is located in a large sunny basin and surrounded by steep slopes. The vines grow on well-ventilated alluvial soils, composed of light quartz porphyry soils on the slopes of Renon. The production of Kellerei Bozen is wide and complete, including internationally recognized wines and characterized by a strong regional imprint that aims to enhance the territory and the Alto Adige tradition. You can therefore taste both bold, fresh and fruity white wines and complex, full-bodied and elegant reds. The Huck Am Bach St. Magdalener Classico by Kellerei Bozen is an elegant and refined red wine, an authentic expression of the territory of Santa Maddalena, on the hills overlooking Bolzano. This area, renowned for the production of high-quality wines, is characterized by an Alpine-Mediterranean climate, with hot and breezy summers and cold and snowy winters. These particular climatic conditions, combined with a moraine-gravel soil rich in minerals, give the grapes unique characteristics, which are reflected in the wine. The Schiava grapes, which form the basis of this wine, are carefully cultivated by the members of Kellerei Bozen, a highly prestigious wine cooperative that operates in compliance with tradition and the environment. The harvest is carried out manually, generally between early and mid-October, with a careful selection of the best bunches. The vinification follows traditional methods, with a maceration of the skins to extract color and tannins and an aging in oak barrels of different sizes, for a variable period depending on the vintage.

The result is a wine with an intense ruby ​​red color, with garnet reflections. On the nose, it opens with an elegant and complex bouquet, with notes of ripe red fruit (cherry, raspberry), flowers (violet, rose), spices (cinnamon, cloves) and a light hint of bitter almond. In the mouth, the wine is dry, warm, velvety, with soft tannins and good acidity. The finish is persistent, with a fruity and spicy aftertaste. Huck Am Bach St. Magdalener Classico is a versatile wine that pairs well with a wide range of dishes. It pairs perfectly with traditional South Tyrolean cuisine, such as dumplings, goulash, speck and mountain cheeses, but also with Italian cuisine, such as first courses with meat sauce, grilled red meats, game and roasts. Thanks to its balanced structure and aromatic complexity, it can also be enjoyed with mushrooms, truffles and mature cured meats.
