Gewürztraminer Fallwind

The St Michael - Eppan winery is located on the outskirts of Bolzano, in a small town in the heart of the most important wine-growing area in the region.

It was founded in 1907 and today has 340 families of winemakers who have shared and passed on the values ​​and principles underlying their work, a work made of tradition and quality. Thanks to union and love for the land and the environment, the St Michael - Eppan winery continues to produce unique wines.

In particular, four lines are produced: Appius, Sanct Valentin, Selezione, Classica. The wine is matured in steel, wooden barrels and barriques - tonneaux. Respect for the grapes is the key principle that guides the winemaking process: tradition is combined with technological innovations, the particularities of the individual grapes are preserved and enhanced, offering an absolutely unforgettable product.

The white of San Michele Appiano is not the usual Gewürztraminer: the careful selection of the native white variety, together with the processing dedicated to it and the long and skilful winemaking mastery, characterize this wine, placing it among the whites most loved by Italians.
Winemaking begins in mid-September and the selection and harvesting takes place manually. The vines are located on gravelly soils with a calcareous content and the presence of clay. The grapes grow on the wine route in Appiano and Termeno (420-550 meters above sea level). Gewürztraminer Fallwind ferments and ages on the yeasts in steel containers until the end of February.

Thus is born a wine with a precious golden yellow color, full of aromas of rose, exotic fruits and oriental spices which make the taste powerful and complex with a rare persistent finish.
