Riesling

The Isarco Valley is the northernmost wine region in Italy. In the vineyards at high altitude, suspended between impervious peaks, in the shadow of the edelweiss, the grape variety symbol of the valley, Riesling, matures. The soils are thin, stony, extremely mineral. The morainic deposits inherited from ice ages are rich in schists, quartz porphyry and gneiss. The roots of the vines, sometimes clinging to the living rock, have to work hard to find the mineral salts they need. The austere conditions of life also impose on men a sensible life, without waste, without excesses. At these heights, wine is truly a gift or even more, 'the song of the earth towards the sky'. Gaffer von Feldenreich's Riesling is a concentration of aromatic, polyphenolic and savory substances without equal. The color is straw yellow with golden hues; on the nose there are hints of orange peel, bergamot, lemon juice, together with floral aromas of wisteria and jasmine. In the mouth they do space very slight hints of flint, moss and mountain pine resin. On the palate you can feel the concentration and aromatic clarity of a vine dedicated to saving. The aftertaste expresses sweetness and freshness masterfully combined in an elegance typical of the high peaks of the Dolomites.
