The lands of Bolgheri have a great variability in a rather restricted area. There are alluvial soils, of fluvial origin, with round pebbles deposited by the ancient watercourses. The name Bolgheri Sassicaia derives from this characteristic. There are soils of marine origin, with wind sands, limestone and clays. And more volcanic rocks from the Metallifere Hills to the east. Thus we find clayey, clayey-sandy or sandy-clayey, clayey-loamy, or completely sandy soils. Water reserves and nutrients vary widely from one area to another. These soils are arranged on terraces at different levels, so that the general structure is able to maintain moisture in depth on average, restoring it in drought periods.
Three large areas can be identified: the hills, the intermediate zone and the area closest to the sea. On the hills there are the oldest alluvial deposits. The pebbly alluvium is also characterized by a good presence of iron oxide. Below the river deposits are younger and mix, in the west, with the marine ones. The microclimate of Bolgheri also uses a strong luminosity: in addition to direct sunlight, there is a reflection effect on the part of the sea mirror located to the west. The average annual temperature is around 14 ° C, with 18.6 ° C from April to September, 7.5 ° C from December to January and 24 ° C in August. The average annual rainfall is about 600 mm., With statistically well distributed rains: more abundant during the vegetative development, less frequent during the ripening of the fruit, then again abundant after the harvest. The driest month is July.

Wine made entirely from Merlot grapes, a particular and captivating aromatic base. Excellent sensations of freshness and cleanness to the nose and palate.
