Modus, produced by the famous Ruffino winery, represents a modern and dynamic interpretation of Tuscan red wines. The name itself, derived from the Latin “modus” (method and measure), underlines the rigorous and calibrated approach with which Ruffino conceived this blend. The soul of Modus lies in the expert assembly of three classic varieties: Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. This combination gives the wine an aromatic complexity and a well-balanced tannic structure. The grapes come from selected vineyards in the Tenuta di Poggio Casciano, located in the heart of Tuscany. The soils, characterized by excellent exposure to the sun and a good temperature range, help to give the grapes a high aromatic concentration and optimal ripening. The vinification of Modus follows a rigorous protocol, aimed at enhancing the varietal characteristics and giving the wine a unique elegance and finesse. The alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature, to preserve the freshness and aromatic vivacity of the grapes. Phases of maceration on the skins follow, of variable duration depending on the year, to extract the tannins and colors. The malolactic fermentation, carried out in stainless steel, helps soften the tannins and give the wine greater aromatic complexity. After assembly, the wine ages for about 12 months in French oak barriques. This passage in wood gives the Modus spicy, toasted and vanilla notes, further enriching the aromatic profile.

Intense ruby ​​red color, with garnet reflections, the nose presents a broad and complex bouquet, characterized by intense fruity notes of blackberry, black cherry and blackcurrant, enriched by floral nuances of violet and sweet spices such as cinnamon and vanilla. On the palate it is enveloping and persistent, with silky tannins and a well-integrated acidity. The finish is long and persistent, with pleasant spicy notes and a fruity aftertaste. Modus is a versatile wine, able to accompany different types of dishes. It pairs perfectly with tasty first courses, grilled or stewed red meats, game and mature cheeses.
