Antinori is one of the most important wine producers in the world. For over six hundred years, the Antinori winery has dedicated itself with passion and intuition to the production of fine wines. The 26 generations of the Marchesi Antinori have progressively assumed a role of marked importance in the history of Italian wine. They are responsible for the valorization of the Sangiovese grape variety, which has become an important protagonist of Italian viticulture. Furthermore, in step with the affirmation of the Antinori name in the international wine scene, the prestige of Tuscan wines has also spread throughout the world. Today the Antinori winery has extended its production beyond Tuscany and Umbria: the choice of territories suited to wine growing in Italy and abroad is the prelude to new experiments, with the constant aim of valorizing the territorial heritage. Continuous experimentation has always been accompanied by important successes for the Marchesi Antinori. The winery boasts an offer of wines among the most appreciated at an international level: Solaia, Tignanello, Pian delle Vigne and the refined interpretations of Chianti Classico and Brunello di Montalcino.

Le Mortelle Botrosecco is a red wine of great character, produced in the renowned region of Maremma Toscana. Born from the experience of the prestigious Antinori winery, this wine authentically expresses the peculiarities of the terroir and the characteristics of the Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc vines. The grapes intended for the production of Botrosecco come from vineyards located on the Le Mortelle estate, characterized by a medium-textured, sandy and silty soil, with a predominantly siliceous-clayey composition. This particular composition of the soil, combined with the Mediterranean climate of the Maremma, with mild winters and hot and breezy summers, gives the wine an aromatic complexity and a well-defined tannic structure. The viticulture practiced on the Le Mortelle estate is based on respect for the environment and the enhancement of local traditions. The vines are grown using traditional training systems and the cultivation practices are aimed at promoting optimal ripening of the grapes and preserving the balance of the terroir. The vinification of Botrosecco takes place in a traditional way, with alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Subsequently, the wine is aged in French oak barriques for a period of approximately 12 months, during which it acquires aromatic complexity and softness.

To the eye, Botrosecco presents itself with an intense ruby ​​red color, with garnet reflections. On the nose, the bouquet is broad and complex, with notes of ripe red fruit (blackberry, black cherry, blackcurrant) that intertwine with hints of spices (black pepper, cloves), tobacco and vanilla, deriving from the aging in wood. On the palate, the wine is full, balanced and persistent. The tannins are well integrated, giving the wine structure and longevity. The flavor is well marked, balanced by a pleasant freshness. The finish is long and persistent, with hints of red fruit and spicy notes. Botrosecco is a very versatile wine, suitable for accompanying grilled or stewed red meat dishes, game, mature cheeses and tasty first courses.
