Antinori is among the most important wine producers in the world. For over six hundred years, the Antinori winery has dedicated itself with passion and intuition to the production of fine wines. The 26 generations of the Marquises Antinori have progressively taken on a prominent role in the history of Italian wine. They owe the valorization of the Sangiovese grape which has become an important protagonist of Italian viticulture. Furthermore, hand in hand with the affirmation of the name Antinori in the international wine scene, the prestige of Tuscan wines has also spread throughout the world. Today the Antinori wineries have extended their production beyond Tuscany and Umbria: the choice of territories suited to wine growing in Italy and also abroad is the prelude to new experiments, with the constant aim of enhancing the territorial heritage. The continuous experimentation has always been accompanied by important successes for the Marquises Antinori. The cellar boasts an offer of some of the most appreciated wines internationally: the Solaia, the Tignanello, the Pian delle Vigne and the refined interpretations of the Chianti Classico and Brunello di Montalcino.

In Botrosecco there is Antinori's aspiration to produce a great red in an area traditionally suited to viticulture, with sustainable techniques and respect for the environment. This was the approach taken in the purchase in 1999 of the Le Mortelle estate in Castiglione della Pescaia by one of the most important Tuscan wine families. 270 hectares of land of which 170 planted in Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, which thanks to the siliceous-clay composition contribute to the aromas of a wine that faithfully tells the Maremma.
