The Rocca di Frassinello winery was born from an ambitious project with a simple idea: investing in a new territory in the center of the Maremma, with lands similar to those of the most famous wine areas of Tuscany, but with different temperatures. Thus, in the enchanting Maremma scenery, Rocca di Frassinello is dedicated to the creation of blends of native and international vines. It is one of the rare cases of an Italian-French joint venture in the production of wine. On the one hand, Paolo Panerai, founder of Castellare di Castellina, on the other, Baron Eric de Rothschild Lafite, one of the most famous names in the world of French wines. An ambitious project crowned by great labels. One of the greatest architects in the world created the new cellar: Renzo Piano.

Vermentino Castellare is produced with pure Vermentino grapes grown on medium-textured soils rich in skeleton at about 90 meters above sea level with a spurred cordon training system. The harvest is carried out with small boxes in two different periods, one at the end of August to bring freshness and the other in the first ten days of September to give more primary scents. The grapes ferment in steel containers where the malolactic fermentation also takes place and refines first in steel and then in the bottle for 6 months.

Vermentino Castellare presents itself with delicate hints of white flowers with citrus notes that, emphasized by the acidity, give freshness to the wine. On the palate it is balanced with good minerality and flavor and with a long finish.
