Ama, a very small village administered by the municipality of Gaiole, in the heart of the Chianti Classico, in the center of Tuscany, with an area that extends for about 75 hectares of DOCG vineyards, here, for 40 years, Marco Pallanti and Lorenza Sebasti have been producing in average about 320,000 bottles of wines every year, divided between the Chianti Classico and IGT labels. The soil, mainly clayey-calcareous, gives rise to the vineyard selection of the same name, giving the wine freshness and elegance together with power, harmony and a very long aging capacity. The wine is produced with Sangiovese grapes (about 85%) with the complement of Malvasia Nera and Merlot, obtained through careful craftsmanship. An intense wine, with a complex and deep nose. Hints of small red fruits, notes of tobacco, licorice and mint. Superb for richness and elegance. Of considerable longevity.

San Lorenzo Castello di Ama is a wine with a remarkable aromatic complexity that expresses an extraordinary power, obtained from the best grapes coming exclusively from historical vineyards. Grapes harvested manually in boxes between 21 August and 2 October, of excellent quality but low quantity, with a vertical espalier system with simple Guyot cut, was vinified with induction from indigenous yeasts and separated by variety in steel tanks at controlled temperatures, with manual pumping over and with a total stay of 22 days for the Sangiovese, 25 days for the Merlot and 26 for the Malvasia Nera. After racking, the wine underwent malolactic fermentation in barriques and, at the end of this, the assembly of the three varieties took place. Subsequently the wine was placed in fine-grained oak barriques for about 14 months, to be finally bottled in July 2019.

San Lorenzo Castello di Ama has a bright, bright and elegant red. The nose is fruity and very intense with hints of currant, strawberry, cherry and plum, then develops with hints of tobacco, licorice, leather and mint. On the palate it is soft and fresh, full-bodied, intense, elegant and refined, which gives way to tannins that are well present and of good power but very harmonious, persistent with a spicy finish.
