Rosso di Marte

For the Rosso di Marte produced by Tenute Ruffino the grapes are selected from homogeneous plots and each is harvested and fermented separately. The refinement then lasts 6 months in second passage barriques, on the lees, with weekly batonage. This vintage is characterized by a cool spring with regular rains, followed by a hot summer with a strong temperature range. The superb ripening of the grapes led to a regular and abundant harvest.

The vineyards are located in the wonderful area of ​​Bolgheri, near the Mediterranean Sea. The soil is mainly clayey-sandy and clayey-silty and is located at an altitude of 150 to 250 meters above sea level.
