The Manetti family has been the owner of the Fontodi winery since 1968, testifying to a great affection for the Chianti area already as a historical producer of the famous local terracotta for centuries. This link with the places and its historical traditions has generated an ever greater knowledge of the vineyards and the art of Sangiovese winemaking. The estate extends to Panzano in Chianti for 170 hectares of which 80 are vineyards, whereagriculture is successfully practiced in which not only the use of chemicals is prohibited, but all the resources that the land offers are optimized by increasing at the most the sustainability regime.

The Chianti Classico Fontodi was born in the vineyards of the so-called Cpnca d'Oro del Chianti south of Panzano, where the high altitude, the composition of the soil and the perfect microclimate contribute to the natural excellence of the wine. The vinification takes place according to spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts and subsequent maceration in stainless steel tanks for two weeks, and then refines the wine in Allier and Troncais barriques for at least 18 months and another 6 months in the bottle. A label with a strong personality worthy of such a rich and complex terroir renowned for centuries.
