The history of the Sassotondo farm is made of love for the land and for a sustainable lifestyle that led Edoardo Ventimiglia, documentary maker, and his wife Carla Benini, agronomist, to leave the city for the countryside. So it was that arrived in Sovana in the Tuscan Maremma in 1990 from a dilapidated house, 1 hectare of vineyard and 72 abandoned hectares, Edoardo and Anna slowly created the Sassotondo farm certified organic since 1994, which today has 12 hectares of vines of which 9 red berry (cherry, sangiovese, teroldego and merlot) and 3 white berry (trebbiano, greek, sauvignon), which give life to genuine wines capable of telling their passionate story in one sip.

The vineyards from which Tuforosso comes are those between Sovana and Pitigliano, rich in minerals such as magnesium and potassium where the Sangiovese, Merlot and Teroldego varieties from which it originates are grown. The grapes are selected and harvested manually and the fermentation takes place without added yeasts, continuing, including the ripening process, for 15/20 days. After that the wine matures in steel containers and is ready to be tasted.
