The Yamazaki single malt, produced by the famous Suntory distillery, represents a point of reference in the Japanese whisky scene. Born in the heart of the Yamazaki forest, this distilled beverage boasts a rich history and internationally recognized quality excellence. The production of Yamazaki single malt is an artisanal process that requires great skill and attention to detail. Malted barley is milled and mixed with hot water to obtain the mash, which is then fermented with selected yeasts. The fermented mash is distilled in copper stills, which give the spirit a unique purity and elegance. The distillate is aged in Japanese oak (Mizunara) and American oak barrels, which help develop the aromatic complexity of the whisky. The ageing takes place in underground warehouses, where the temperature and humidity conditions are carefully controlled to ensure an optimal maturation process. Ageing is a fundamental element in determining the character of a whisky. Yamazaki single malt is aged for several years in oak barrels, which give the spirit its aromatic complexity and its amber color.
