The Baglio di Pianetto winery after more than 20 years from its birth is now a consolidated reality in Sicilian oenology thanks to the passionate entrepreneurial activity of Count Paolo Marzotto and his family. The basic philosophy is the continuous research between tradition and innovation, with a passionate care for the raw material of excellence and respect for nature and the surrounding environment, aware that good wine is born in the vineyard rather than in the cellar. And so it's that in the countryside of Palermo and in the Val di Noto, in two completely different and in some ways complementary terroirs, about 160 hectares of vineyards converted to organic are cultivated, which first conquered Sicilian drinkers and then all the rsto of the world. 50% of Baglio di Pianetto's production is directed abroad between the United States, Japan, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Russia, France, Norway, the Czech Republic, Canada and being consolidated in many other countries, thanks to the most genuine and authentic expression of the land of Sicily.

Salici from the name of the Piana dei Salici (willows) area on which the Merlot vineyards extend. The harvest is manual, and the fermentation of the grapes is traditional with punching down and delestage, the duration of which is in relation to the maturity of the grapes. Subsequently the aging takes place in small French oak barrels, and the malolactic fermentation on the fine lees lasts at least 16 months. Following a long refinement of several years in the bottle before the wine is placed on the market.
