Glenlivet 18 years old

Today the Glenlivet distillery name is known throughout the world for its high level of taste and quality. But it started with only one man: George Smith. Born in 1792 on a small hill farm in the parish of Glenlivet, George Smith came from a family of "abusive" distillers. As a young man his perseverance and determination were very distinct and clear. Evidence of this is the fact that at the time it contributed to the sustenance of the family by working tirelessly as a carpenter, in the construction of stables, repairing fences and doing odd jobs in neighboring companies. In his spare time he cultivated a passion for distillation as a family tradition and thus produced a distillate with a unique style; having chosen an optimal position for the source of pure water, the altitude and geological conformation of the area, and above all away from the family distillery, George produced his Glenlivet whiskey. The success was such that he was forced to shoot with a pair of hair-trigger guns given to him by Aberlour's Laird to defend himself from envious concurrents.

The 18-year-old Glenlivet is aged in Sherry casks under the careful guidance of the master distiller Alan Winchester, who has a wide variety of excellent quality barrels. The result is a Single Malt Scotch Whisky of rare elegance, with floral and tropical fruit fragrances, with a persistent and woody finish, which confirms its well-deserved international reputation.
