The Lechburg winery has its roots in the wine tradition of the Lechinta area in Romania in the enchanted and fairytale territory of Transylvania. We are on the slopes of the Carpathian Mountains in an uncontaminated area made of wild nature, in the lands of the Saxon Grands Crus with a strong viticultural vocation, where the Saxon settlers from the Rhine and Moselle Valleys planted their vineyards as early as the 13th century. Following the end of the Second World War, many of the winemakers returned to their homeland. Today the country's economic growth and European integration has attracted new investors, and in this context a family of Italian origin in 2015 acquired the Lechburg winery built in 1962, where 20,000 hectoliters a year were produced and stored for the wine cooperative. of Lechinta, denominated DOC for its value. The new company course has based its production philosophy on the practice of organic farming, respecting the environment in a perfect balance between tradition and innovation, of which the old recovered and modernized concrete tanks are an example. The terroir enjoys excellent climatic exposures sheltered by the Carpathian chain and kissed by the sun during the ripening periods of the grapes, grown on hilly clayey soils rich in mineral deposits. All excellent conditions for producing high quality certified organic wines.
Chardonnay Lechburg is an international wine that captures the characteristics of the "terroir". Its grapes are harvested and selected manually at an altitude of about 380-500m a.s.l. in an 8-hectare site with about 5000 vines, with a typical temperate and moderate continental climate. Gently pressed in whole bunches, softly pressed and stripped for natural sedimentation. The fermentation is slow at a controlled temperature in cement tanks and the refinement lasts for 5-7 months on fine yeasts always in cement tanks.
Chardonnay Lechburg has a straw yellow color with green reflections. On the nose, hints of fresh fruit, peach and quince supported by spicy notes of walnut and hazelnut. On the palate it is structured and of great elegance, soft and with a very saline finish
