Barbera D'Alba

The history of the Ceretto family and its winery is passionate and exciting. Founded in 1937 by Riccardo Ceretto in Alba, today after almost 80 years and 100 hectares of vineyards it has grown in the name of maximum research in the wine sector, becoming an ambassador of Piedmont and Italy in the world. The position of the vineyards in the Langhe and Roero, combined with a dedication to the maximum environmental sustainability of its products and respect for traditions, make it a wealth of skills of great value.

"Piana" is a Barbera d'Alba from Ceretto that comes from grapes coming from some lands, which are located within the Monsordo Bernardina estate, near Alba, the main headquarters of the winery. The vineyards are located in a hilly area, characterized by splendid sunny exposures and fine calcareous-clayey marl soils. The vineyards are cultivated in certified organic farming, with the use of only sulfur and copper. The best bunches, selected directly in the vineyard during the harvest, are fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The wine matures for a few months in steel tanks before being bottled.

The red Barbera d'Alba "Piana" is a red with a strong territorial imprint, which has a dark red color with violet reflections. The nose is rich and exuberant, with intense aromas of ripe cherry, wild blackberry, small red berries, plum and delicate nuances of violet and sweet spices. The taste is intense, it has a noble, soft and harmonious tannic texture, it is very fresh, tasty and persists when drunk.
