In 1962 19 vine growers from San Marzano, from families linked by generations to the land, joined together to found "Cantine San Marzano". With the decades, this cooperative has grown to the point of attracting over 1,200 viticulturists, using modern and technologically advanced systems and producing wines that are always elegant with the utmost respect for the ancient Apulian wine tradition. Today the fusion of tradition, passion and sensitivity towards modern techniques allows us to produce wines with varietal and well-defined regional characteristics, which marvelously reflect individual attention, seasonal variations and local terroir. From very old selected vineyards in the municipalities of San Marzano and Sava. The soils consist of the residual red earth, with a fine texture and generally with calcareous substratum and radius rocky outcrops. The famous red color of these soils derives from an intense presence of iron oxides. The thermal values ​​characterize a rather warm environment, with very low annual rainfall and very high temperature ranges, a condition that has a beneficial influence on the quality of the grapes. This is the classic area of ​​production of the d.o.p. Primitivo of Manduria.

Ruby red color very full and elegant, broad and complex, fruity, with hints of plum, cherry jam and hints of tobacco, slightly spicy. A wine of great body, soft and full of noble tannins, with a finish that gives notes of cocoa, coffee and vanilla.
