In 1730, Henry Burmester and John Nash founded Burmester & Nash, General company, in London. The company was moved to Vila Nova de Gaia and in 1750 began to trade with the British Isles and the rest of Europe.
The association was dissolved at the end of the century when Henry Burmester Jr. and his sons, founded a new wine company Porto H. Burmester & Sons.
In 1834, for the fact that neither of the two brothers had descendants, Johann Wilhelm Burmester, a family member residing in Hamburg, he was invited to join to 'wine company of Porto.
Years later, in 1880, he changed the name to J. W. Burmester & C °, which has remained unchanged to this day.
Brilliant and bright yellow. The young nose, intensely fruity and floral. In the mouth, fruity, fragrant and exotic, with a good acidity. It is a soft, white wine and full body, an intense touch of minerality in the finish.
